Today was Google’s latest PArtners Connect event (#partnersconnect) These are a series of events that Google has sponsored in conjunction with their Google Adwords Partners program. Today’s Youtube Connect event was geared toward the opportunities offered for businesses via advertising on YouTube.
The YouTube Connect event was streamed live from Google and featured speakers on several subjects that are key to understanding the potential of Youtube. Since most of my regular readers are not local to me and therefore could not attend the event in person I thought I would use this post to share the recorded version of the event.
This is the third or fourth Partners Connect event that I have participated in and they keep getting better. I think this one is worth setting some time aside to sit down and watch it. Don’t feel that, just because you are a local business, that video advertising is beyond your means. Just the opposite is true. Video can be very beneficial and effective even for local businesses. You just have to know how to utilize it in the right way.
That is where we come in. I started in this business (advertising) nine years ago as a side project. I was researching an article on how indie music acts could promote themselves on the web and compete with big name record labels. I found out that video advertising could be a really important part of that process.
From there the rest was history. I went on to become certified in Adwords and joined the Google Exchange program (now Google Partners) and expanded services to all types of online advertising as well as hosting, web design, SEO and inbound marketing.
