Ever since I became a Google Trusted Photographer I have been taking 360 degree photos and posting them on Google Maps. I have always enjoyed taking pictures. In fact, way back in Jr High I took a course in photography that included developing photos in a real darkroom. Those were the days, I still remember the smell of the chemicals as the prints soaked in the trays of liquid.
Today the darkroom is a thing of the past for most of us as digital photography and online image storage and viewing make up the bulk of how we create and interact with photos and, more recently, videos. The choices in how to capture images and then display them are expanding in amazing ways. In the image below you see a 360 degree image I created on an LG 360 camera. The LG 360 is a relatively inexpensive camera that can produce reasonable quality 360 degree images which can be uploaded to Facebook or Google.
By attaining the Google “Trusted Photographer” status and as such I can link 360 degree photos together into tours. These 360 degree images allow you to give potential customers a window into your business that was never possible before. They can virtually step inside of your business and see if they like it. Or, as in the case of the images below, they can click from image to image and thereby take a virtual tour through your business and this can be done inside or (as in this case) outside of your business.
These videos can then be uploaded to google maps via your Google My Business listing. This tour can be found and accessed by people through search, on their desktop computer or their mobile device. You can also embed the image from Google maps to your website as I have done here. For more information and prices check out the “Virtual Tours” page on this site.
