Filmmaker David Spaltro joined me recently in a Google Hangout On Air to talk about video marketing. More specifically how to create engaging video content from the perspective of an ad agency or a business. Below is the saved version of that hangout.
David is an independent filmmaker from New York City. he has worked on both sides of the lens and his films have won awards at film festivals all over the world. In addition David has worked in marketing before becoming a filmmaker so he brings a unique perspective to the discussion.
Being a part of the Google Partners (Adwords) Community on Google+ has made me realize that video advertising is not the big topic among online advertising professionals that you might think it would be. Yes it is arguably the best way for anyone to get their message across but with the established PPC crowd it seems lie it is still viewed as just an “extra”.
As a member of the community I try to impart a little knowledge on the subject of video marketing where I can. This video was originally part of a series of HOA’s I am doing within the Partners Community. While you have to be a Google Partner to participate in the live version of the Hangout I think that the saved version on YouTube can still provide a lot of insight.
Too many people feel like they don’t know where to begin with video marketing. However, with all of the high quality digital equipment that is out there today video marketing is within the reach of everyone. If a 13 year old kid can create videos on YouTube that get millions of views (it happens every day) then you can do it too!
Filmmaker David Spaltro shares some insights into what it takes to make a video that will engage your intended audience. He does it partly through anecdotal references to his own experiences as a filmmaker and partly through direct suggestions. I think every aspiring video marketer can get something useful from this video.
